چکیده
Abstract The second-generation gravitational wave detectors Advanced LIGO and Virgo have shown their breakthrough capability to shed light on our understanding of the Universe. Although steady increase in sensitivity, these will hit future limitations due hosting infrastructures. This is reason why a new generation are under studies. Einstein Telescope (ET) planned European 3 rd Wave (GW) Observatory, research infrastructure designed host detector capable observe entire Universe using waves. ET be multi-interferometer observatory aiming factor ten sensitivity previous detectors. We give an overview project, describe main scientific goals technological challenges that must overcome reach expected sensitivity.

The Einstein Telescope: a third-generation gravitational wave observatory
Advanced gravitational wave interferometers, currently under realization, will soon permit the detection of gravitational waves from astronomical sources. To open the era of precision gravitational wave astronomy, a further substantial improvement in sensitivity is required. The future space-based Laser Interferometer Space Antenna and the third-generation ground-based observatory Einstein Tele...
متن کاملStatus of Ground-Based Gravitational Wave Detectors
Gravitational wave detectors on the ground are now operating full-time at unprecedented sensitivity. Detection of gravitational waves by ground-based detectors is expected, if not from this generation, then from its successors that will start construction within a few years.
متن کاملAdvanced technologies for future ground-based, laser-interferometric gravitational wave detectors
We present a review of modern optical techniques being used and developed for the field of gravitational wave detection. We describe the current state-of-the-art of gravitational waves detector technologies with regard to optical layouts, suspensions and test masses. We discuss the dominant sources and noise in each of these subsystems and the developments that will help mitigate them for futur...
متن کاملQND measurements for future gravitational-wave detectors
Second-generation interferometric gravitational-wave detectors will be operating at the Standard Quantum Limit, a sensitivity limitation set by the trade off between measurement accuracy and quantum back action, which is governed by the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. We review several schemes that allows the quantum noise of interferometers to surpass the Standard Quantum Limit significantly...
متن کاملGround-based gravitational wave detection: now and future
In the past three years, the first generation of large gravitational wave interferometers has begun operation near their design sensitivities, taking up the mantle from the bar detectors that pioneered the search for the first direct detection of gravitational waves. Even as the current ground-based interferometers were reaching their design sensitivities, plans were being laid for the future. ...
